About the Campus
Florida International University's Modesto A. Maidique Campus (MMC) is located in western Miami-Dade County. The event will be held in the Graham Center— FIU's central student hub, featuring professional conference rooms, an auditorium, and top-tier AV infrastructure.
The Graham Center sits at the heart of campus and is easily reachable from I-75, the Florida Turnpike, and SW 8th Street (Calle Ocho). It's about 15 minutes from downtown Miami and 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale.
FIU is one of the largest universities in the US and home to a thriving tech community — the perfect backdrop for South Florida's first AWS Community Day.
Parking
Parking is available in Lot 1 and the Parking Garage 1 adjacent to the Graham Center. Additional parking in Lot 5 near the Engineering Center. Expect a 5–10 minute walk to the venue.
Public Transit
Miami-Dade Transit Route 11 (Flagler Street / SW 8th Street) stops directly at FIU. The nearest Metrorail station is University (Green Line), approximately 2 miles from campus — connect via the FIU Panther Mover shuttle on weekdays. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.
Accessibility
FIU's Graham Center is fully ADA-compliant with ramp access, accessible restrooms, and elevator service to all floors. Reserved seating for attendees with disabilities is available upon request.
